Welcome to the Tucson Arizona Mass Choir!

If you are interested in sharing your musical talents and your faith with a Gospel Choir, please feel free to join our rehearsals on the first Monday of each month, 7:00-9:00 pm, held at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church, 3809 East Third Street, Tucson, AZ, or e-mail:

All are welcome!

TAMC is comprised of some 50 members under the direction of Tucson musician and composer Dorothy C. Reid. The choir sings primarily Negro spirituals, hymns, and traditional and contemporary gospel music, including African American gospel anthems. The choir's members form a diverse group, and represent numerous churches in the Tucson area, including Friendship Missionary Baptist, Southside Presbyterian, Davis-Monthan IGS, St. Mark's Presbyterian, Prince Chapel AME, Christ's Kingdom Fellowship, Phillips Chapel C.M.E., Rising Star Baptist, Mt. Calvary Baptist, New Dimensions Ministries, Heaven Bound Church, St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal, St. Pius Catholic, St. Francis in the Foothills United Methodist, Living Waters Ministries, Catalina Methodist, Casas Adobes Baptist, Faith Christian Fellowship, Mountain Shadows Presbyterian, and Faith Community East Side Church. TAMC welcomes all singers and musicians, whether affiliated with a particular church or not, to come and share their gifts with the Choir and the community. Together, we will sing praises with one voice, and bear witness in song to our unity in Christ.

If you would like to hear what TAMC sounds like, a very good way to do so is to tune into Sister Shirley Moore's Gospel Show.  It airs on Tucson's KXCI Community Radio station (91.3 FM) on Sunday mornings from 6:00 to 10:00 am.  Give the station a call at 520-622-5924 and ask her to play a song from one of the choir's CDs!

If you would like to make a donation to the choir in support of its ministry of music, it would be most appreciated.  If you are in a position to do so, and would like to contribute, please help provide for the choir's continuing mission by sending a check (made out to TAMC) to TAMC, c/o S. Halversen, 3739 E. Gibbon Mtn. Pl, Tucson, AZ  85718-2318. If you can't help, that's okay. Either way, God bless!

All donations received will be used to continue the ministry of the choir. TAMC received an IRS ruling on its 501 (c) application; as of 20 November 2003, donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Consult your tax adviser for further information. As required by the IRS, TAMC's Application for Exemption, supporting documentation, and Letter of Exemption are available upon request.
