Michele Tuccio

Economist, PhD


I am an economist in the Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs of the OECD. I am also an Associate Member of the Centre for Population Change, an Associate Researcher at DIAL (IRD-Université Paris-Dauphine), and a Fellow of the Global Labor Organization (GLO). Since 2018/19, I am a visiting professor at Sciences Po Paris.
I have previously worked for the World Bank in Washington DC, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, the OECD Development Centre in Paris, the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Jakarta, and the international association AIESEC in Mexico City and Rome. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Southampton.
My research focuses on labour and development economics, and has been published in academic journals such as the Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, the Journal of Population Economics, and Journal of Comparative Economics. Media coverage of my work include Economist, Bloomberg, Reuters, Repubblica, Il Sole 24 Ore, Der Spiegel, and Die Welt.
