Upper Cumberland

The “Light of Hope” is event the Upper Cumberland Region’s annual contribution to Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.  Last year’s event (held September 22, 2008) was the first ever held at Tennessee Technical University. At right, Advisory Council member Bernard Barton (second from right) addresses the crowd at the Light of Hope event.  Pictured third from right is Angel Smithers, coordinator of the Suicide Anonymous support group in Cookeville.
This year's "Light of Hope" event has been merged with the statewide Suicide Prevention Awareness and Educational Event project.
