About Us

The club consists of men and women with a wide age range, including families. It doesn’t matter whether you use a cheap point & shoot or the latest high end camera. We welcome people of all abilities and aspirations. If you just want to share pictures of your holidays, the dog or even your garden fence that’s fine by us.

We are keen to encourage new members, especially those who are trying to learn about photography. If you have a question about any aspect of photography all you need to do is ask! If the person you ask doesn’t know they will be able to direct you to someone who does.

What do we do?

We hold weekly meetings between August and April. The season starts in August. although you can join us at any time.

Topics include:

  • Guest speakers showing their work

  • Practical photography sessions, sometimes with models/props

  • Talks and demonstrations by our members

  • Competitions and critique evenings

When & where do we meet?

We meet on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm, although there’s normally someone there from just after 7.00), in the church hall of St Thomas's. You can come along and try up to three meetings before committing to become a member.

Get your images reviewed

We organise ompetitions throughout the year. - the main competition has four rounds for both Prints and Projected Images, and is held across the season. These are very popular with our members and are keenly contested! Don't let that put you off though - 'novices' have shown fantastic work. It's also a fantastic way of showing club members your images, your likes and styles.

We encourage members to have a go, as an independent judge will review and provide constructive criticism / feedback. Of course, you don't need to enter - you can just enjoy seeing other people’s work. We also enter inter-club competitions through our affiliation with The Western Counties Photographic Federation (WCPF).

Where else can you find us online?
We also have a Facebook page and members and friends group
