MEDICALS….Please be proactive on having these done.

Planning meeting is planned for August 13, so be thinking of ideas you want to do and write them down. Remember there is almost nothing we can’t do but some need more planning than others.

Also the Pack 555 is requesting our assistance, see e-mail below;

Pack 555 & Troop 555,

We need your help to staff a recruiting event we are having on 8/19/17 at NHPC.

We need Akelas/Parents and Leaders (and Boy Scouts) to help us staff this event that is being advertised in the Mechanicsville Local, Richmond Family Magazine's website and on Facebook.

Please sign up for one slot or the whole day. We'll feed you!

Scout On!

The Pack would like to request the assistance of Boy Scouts who need service hours to help us with a recruiting event on 8/19 from 9am to 4pm at NHPC. We will have several stations setup with activities that we could use help running. Anyone interested, please have them reach out to me.

This is a Class A uniform event. We have promoted this event on Facebook, in the Mechanicsville Local and on Richmond Family Magazine's event calendar.

We may also need help covering 2 of the three schools near us (since P505 appears to be fading). Aug 31 we could use a few scouts at each of

Pearsons Corner and Kersey Creek for a couple of hours to hand out flyers and talk us up. Unfortunately we have no families in those schools at this time. In Hanover Co's wisdom, all the open houses are on the same afternoon.

NYLT 2017 (we are proud to say that Mr. Tyler W. and Mr. Logan M. will be attending)

Heart of Virginia Council will hold its first ever National Youth Leadership Training Course at the Cub Adventure Camp starting August 6th 2017. NYLT is the BSA’s next level of leadership training for Scouts, Varsity Scouts, Venturers, and Sea Scouts after completing Introduction to Leadership for Troops / Introduction to Leadership for Crews and Ships. The NYLT course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what he must KNOW, and what he must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the week as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.

If you have not done so, please register your KROGER card. If you don't know how to, please see Ben Ward at a troop meeting. This is an easy way for us to raise funds for our Troop.

*All Scouts are challenged to look into earning the religious emblem of their faith. To find out more, go to www.praypub.org

Yours in scouting,

Mr. Witt
