JAMES RIVER RAFTING TRIP has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 10th. Pray for rain west of Richmond. Thursday I spoke with Travis the river is still 6 inches too low for the rafts to make the trip. I will check with Travis on September 8th and notify all who have signed up if the trip is cancelled.
This will be a day trip. The cost of trip is $60/person. Currently we have three rafts reserved for a total of 14. Please notify the scoutmaster if you would like to attend. Any questions please e-mail the scoutmaster at Scoutmaster@troop555.net or call. The River Trip is the perfect trip for first time paddlers ages 9 and up. The trip takes you down the upper section of the James River with rapids ranging from class I-II.
Fall Court of Honor is Tuesday September 13 in Hanover Hall (the very front of the church) in NHPC. Dinner begins at 6:30 PM with the ceremony to follow. All family and friends are welcome. Scouts should be dressed in full uniform with Merit Badge Sash. Parents this is your opportunity to see your son honored for his achievements during the last six months. Diane Francis is organizing the dinner. Please contact her if you are able to help with the organization of the dinner. Scouts please be prepared to show up early and or stay after to help setup/ cleanup. All Scouts should bring a side dish. The troop will provide Fried Chicken, dessert and drinks.
September PLC is scheduled for September 15 at 7:30 PM at the Carson Building. If you are an officer and unable to attend you must notify the Scoutmaster. We will work on September and October Meetings. Shooting is the September theme. Please go to links below.

Oceana Air Show Weekend - September 23- 25. The troop will camp two nights at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. We will plan to attend the airshow on Saturday, September 24. The cost is $15. The boys will need to bring extra money to purchase food / souvenirs at the air show. More details to come.
Fall Stew is September 30th at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge. We will only be making 600 quarts. Please turn in your orders at the next meeting (including Court of Honor) to avoid being shutout.
