We ran out of time before completing the elections for Quartermaster, Scribe and the Patrol Leaders. Those elections will take place Tuesday night. Scouts interested in the positions should write a few sentences expressing why they would like to hold the position.

Fall Stew is September 30th at the Fraternal Order of Police lodge. All hands are needed for chicken picking Friday night at 6:00 PM ET and dipping Saturday morning at 7:00 AM ET. Scouts please invite a friend. Everyone who works needs to be a hat or other hair covering. Every scout should be able to attend stew for at least a little while!! Many hands make light work. Even if you have not sold any stew, you can still earn money for your scout account making the stew.

Strong men are also needed Thursday night at 7:00 PM to move pots. Meet at the pavillon behind Shady Grove Methodist Church.

Winter Camp Commitments are needed at the meeting on October 4.

Winter Camp will be held January 13-16, 2012 at the Heart of Virginia Scout Reservation - Cub Adventure Camp.

$50 program fee for each participant, youth or adult, covers all meals, patch and activities.

Any merit badge costs will be the responsibility of each scout.

Appalachian Trail Overnighter Backpacking Trek - October 9 - 10. Ms Coffey will be leading a trip into the mountains. If you have never gone on the AT you are missing a great adventure among the beautiful mountains. Those attending will meet at the church at 7:00 AM, Sunday morning. Please inform Ms. Coffey at stew if you are attending.

October PLC is scheduled for October 13 at 7:30 PM at the Carson Building. If you are an officer and are unable to attend you must notify the Scoutmaster. We will work on October Meetings. We are doing High Adventure for the October theme. Please go to link below.

OA Merit Badge Weekend – October 21 – 23. We will be camping behind the Mechanicsville VFW (Cold Harbour Rd at Bell Creek Road). Leaders if you are a merit badge counselor, the OA members organizing the weekend need your help.

Scouting for Food Bags In and Bags Out are scheduled for October 29th and November 5th. Please make time in your schedule to help with this very important service project. We will meet at Northside Baptist Church on Studley Rd at 9:30 AM each Saturday. We should finish around 12:00 PM.
