Lots of work on lots of advancement, talk about upcoming events, and a Halloween party. Hang-on, there's a lot happening over the next few weeks and a different meeting schedule than usual. Please read carefully, and keep watching your e-mail for updates.
This Saturday is Bag's Out. We will meet at Northside Baptist Church (7600 Studley Road) at 9:30 and will be placing bags at local neighborhood houses for the Scouting for Food program. This is the biggest scout wide service project of the year and provides the food bank with much of its annual food needs. Please participate. We should be done fairly quickly. Scouts whose parents are not staying to help should be picked up no later than 11:30.
That afternoon through Sunday morning there is a Star Party at Brady Saunders for scouts interested in astronomy. The event starts about 2:00 in the afternoon, and the cost is $8.00. This is open to all scouts, but is not a troop event so scouts will need to be accompanied by a parent or legally responsible adult (That means you can go with your friend's dad, but you need a permission slip from your parent.) More information is available on the council website or at: http://www.bradysaunders.net/camp/astro.html
There is No Meeting on November 4th – Election Day. There is a meeting for adult leaders at 7:30.

Service projects at NHPC on November 15th - Two quick projects: one is to help repair about 6 boards on one of the fences, and the other is to help load up the cots and clean the Carson building form having the homeless there for a week. More information to come, but please help out if you can. Neither of these should take long but it is important work.
