This Friday at 7:00 – Seamus M’s Eagle Court of Honor. He requests that you try to arrive about 1 hour early to make sure we can all “be prepared” for the ceremony. The ceremony will take place at New Hanover.

There will be a PLC next Thursday 5/13.

On May 15th join Mr. Kelley on a 7 mile day hike in the Charlottesville area at the Ragged Mountain Natural Area. You may see a yellow-bellied sapsucker, woodpecker, bats, snapping turtle, otter, deer or the rare bobcat or black bear that is known to visit the area. Permission slip is attached. Depart from the Carson building at 8:00 and return approximately 5:00.

Kevin T’s Eagle Court of Honor is Thursday May 20th , please come!

Memorial Day Weekend we will be participating in our annual service project of placing flags out on the graves at the Cold Harbor cemetery. This takes about 1 hour Friday evening, and about 1 hour Monday evening to bring the flags in. Please plan to attend.

Special congratulations are in order for Reed Piacentini who was awarded the Hanover County Spirit of Youth Volunteerism award Tuesday evening at the Hanover County Spirit of Volunteerism Awards. This is a great honor for Reed, and the award included a donation on Reed’s behalf to the Troop from Owens & Minor. Please congratulate Reed the next time you see him! Also nominated in different categories were Don Piacentini and The Battlefield District of the Boy Scouts of America. Congratulations to these two as well for their nominations – it is quite an honor and speaks volumes about the true values of the troop, district and BSA!

We still need commitments for Summer Camp and Seabase. See a leader!

Advice from the Scoutmaster: Find a way to say “Thank You” to those closest to you for the things they do every day. Remember Sunday is Mother’s Day!
