Our first "beach" camping experience for Troop 555 in several years is set to take place this weekend at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. Scouts are asked to be at the Carson Building, having already eaten dinner, by 6:00 pm on Friday the 13th.

Bring your camping gear, day pack for Saturday's trip to Nauticus in Norfolk, $20.00 for admission and spending money at Nauticus, a camp chair and gear for good and bad weather (scattered showers possible). There should be time to look at advancement requirements so bring your scout book.

Our plan is to return to the Carson Building on Sunday around 12:30 - 1:00 pm, depending upon traffic. Remember we travel in our uniforms.

Advice from the Scoutmaster –In Scouting, we carry around our own “labels.” They can be seen by how we wear our uniform and the badges that we display. Ask yourself, how well does your label describe the contents of your scouting package? Can it be said of you “The enclosed package (Scout) lives up to the Oath and Law” or “This Scout is prepared to help in emergencies and does a good turn daily.” Wear your label, your uniform, and its badges proudly, and remember that it tells a lot about you and your pledge to the Scout Oath and Law.
