On Saturday, Maxwell C, Rhett E, Drew H, Steven C and Andrew S completed Troop Leadership Training. At the end of the lesson the scouts made the Troop goals for their term.

  1. Have at least 12 scouts advance at least one rank.
  2. Have at least three “unaverage” (field trip or guest speaker) meetings.
  3. Add three or more new scouts by 10/1
    1. A. Meeting announcements to bring friends
    2. B. Well run meetings.
  4. Two meetings per month will include skills instructions.

Each youth leader needs to write personal goals for their term in office and present to a Scoutmaster. This is a requirement!!

Please congratulate them for taking this training and promise to be supportive during their term in office.

Leadership Positions are still available if any Scout is interested, please see the Scoutmaster.

Camping Trip to Alexandria, VA on Friday, May 11th to Saturday, May 12th – The scouts have chosen to tour Mount Vernon in the morning and bike along the Potomac River in the afternoon. We will camp at the Coast Guard Station in Alexandria. We will meet Friday evening at 6:00 PM and return Saturday night around 9:00 PM to allow the boys to be home for Mother’s Day. Due to Coast Guard Station regulations, signups have been completed. The expected cost is $31 plus the boys need to bring money for their dinner Saturday night plus optional money for souvenirs. Please contact the Scoutmaster if you have any questions.

May PLC is scheduled for Thursday, May 17th at 7:30 PM at the Carson Building. If you are an officer and are unable to attend you must notify the Scoutmaster. We will work on May and June Meetings. Please go to link below.

Order of the Arrow Summer Service Weekend is scheduled for May 18-20, 2012. The registration form can be downloaded here. The deadline for registrations is Wednesday, May 9th. Please honor your membership and attend.

Cowboy Camping /Horsemanship Weekend – June 1 – 3. The troop will travel to Ford, Virginia (Dinwiddie County) to camp and work on the Horsemanship merit badge at the "Barlin Ranch" Equestrian Center. The plan is to “sleep under the stars” weather permitting. There is also a pond onsite that will be available for fishing. More information will be made available regarding the trip in the coming weeks! Cost $35 for the program, the Troop will cover the food costs.

Ben Tehan’s Eagle Court of Honor is scheduled for Saturday, June 9th at 4:00 PM. . More details will be posted in future updates.

Do you want to be more involved with the Troop but don’t want to go camping? Please consider joining the committee. The Troop Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM. Duties include budget, advancement, fundraising and leadership review.
