Well we’re back from camp and moving forward with a great set of activities at meetings and upcoming trips. Congratulations on all the merit badges earned!
Tuesday night we had several first aid drills. Thanks to our “victims” for helping with preparation! Next week we will be working on fire building skills and the next week we will be meeting at the Hanover Courthouse Park for an evening of Fishing! After that we’re working on aHospital visit. Lots to do!
We’ve got two troop-wide events on the horizon. On July 25th we’re planning a trip to Washington and the Spy Museum. On August 28-30 we will be going on our kick-back camping weekend. We are trying this summer to go to Lake Gaston!
There are still Jamboree Openings Left! The Council has committed to sending 9 Troops of 36 youth each to the Jamboree. That is 324 youth needed to fill our contingent. Currently we have 252 youth committed to attending, leaving us with 72 open spaces. (as of June 10) Check outhttp://www.bsajamboree.org/
Advice from the Scoutmaster: Smile at someone today – Make a friend for tomorrow!
- 7/25 Spy Museum Day Trip
- 8/14-16 Troop Annual Planning Weekend – Youth and Adult Leaders should attend!
- 8/28-30 – Kick Back Camping Weekend
Please remember that Troop meetings start promptly at 7:30. Leaders are there from about 7:15 and Scouts can gather and take advantage of this time to talk to the leaders. If you are leaving the meeting early, please make sure the scoutmaster or an assistant scoutmaster know you are leaving so we won’t go looking for you.
