January 5

A great first meeting of the New Year! I was on the EGDE of my seat during Mrs. Coffey’s presentation. (If you didn’t get that one, you either weren’t there or weren’t paying attention!)

There was advancement earned Tuesday night – congratulations Logan! Please remember that some rank requirements have changed for the New Year, if you don’t have a new book, check with the Scoutmaster or with Ben Ward for new rank requirements.

This Saturday we will go on our first outing of the New Year! A 10 mile hike at the Petersburg Battlefield! We will gather at the Carson Building at 7:45 AM on Saturday morning, and depart by 8:00. We should return about dinnertime. Bring a daypack, lunch, good hiking shoes or boots (and first aid stuff for your feet!) Remember - layers provide warmth, and a daypack can hold layers to put on , and layers you take off. There is a patch available at the end of the hike. Thanks Mr. Ward for setting this up!

Stew is closer than you think! -- End of February!

An important note from Mr. McKittrick:

We need some adults to go through the short health department training in late February or early March so we can continue the stew. They can call me at 746-1804 to get information and volunteer.

-- Tom McKittrick
