In keeping with a long standing policy to avoid confusion. There will be no Scout meeting tonight. Go out and enjoy the ummmm.... slush?
The 14 of us that attended the Fredericksburg hike had a great time. We were privileged to gain access to the Ellis House and view the damage firsthand. Thanks again to Mr. Cloe for being our tour guide and arranging a great hike.
PLC meeting this Wednesday (tomorrow) at 7:45. Very important meeting we need to plan our open house.
On Tuesday January 18th we will be holding a Webelo open house. Invite a friend!!
Winter Camp Update from Mrs. Coffey
Good morning all, I wanted to give all scouts going to the Winter Camp event, an update. Fisrt, Rachel and myself will be providing transportation to and from the event. I would like to leave from the Carson Bld, no later than 5:00 pm on Friday if possible. Next, I have reserved 2 tee pees for our use. 1 for the scouts and 1 for Rachel and myself. Cots are provided. So, all the boys would need to bring is appropriate WINTER sleeping gear and appropriate WINTER clothing. I realize that the tee pees are an additional expense that wasn't expected, ($5 per boy/per night), therefore I will incur that cost myself, which I am more than happy to do. Please feel free to call me at 869-1995 if you have any questions.
YIS, Mrs. Coffey
A few things to be thinking about in the near (and not so near) future.
In January and February the council will hold the Patrick Henry Public Speaking merit badge program. This takes place January 22, 29 & February 5th. See the Scoutmaster, or another leader for more details.
Summer Camp is July 10-16. The troop has already made commitments. If you are interested in Summer Camp, the troop would like the first deposit of $100 toward the fee by the end of February.
Advice from the Scoutmaster: Be Friendly, Kind and Courteous and invite your friends to visit us.
· 1/12 – PLC (7:45)
· 1/18 – Open House
· 1/25 – No regular scout meeting: Exam Week – Leader’s Meeting
· 1/28 -29 - Klondike Derby
· 2/19 - Belle Isle Hike
Please remember that Troop meetings start promptly at 7:30. Leaders are there from about 7:15 and Scouts can gather and take advantage of this time to talk to the leaders. Please don't wait until the end of the meeting for advancement sing-off. If you are leaving the meeting early, please make sure the scoutmaster or an assistant scoutmaster know you are leaving so we won’t go looking for you.
