Committee Meeting Tuesday – Scouts this is a last chance to advance in rank before Court of Honor and the next Troop Leadership Election. Please wear full Class A uniform.

Thank you to everybody who helped with another successful Brunswick Stew. Special Thanks to Dickey Coffey and Tom and Jean Carr.

We also would like to thank David Tostenson for arranging a great field trip to the Water Treatment Plant in Henrico County last Tuesday. The boys had a lot of questions for the staff of the facility and were surprised (or at least I was) about how many steps it takes to turn river water into drinking water.

Spring Court of Honor/FOS dinner Tuesday, March 13 at 6:30 PM (note earlier time) inside the church in Hanover Hall not the Carson Building.

Parents and Families - Please plan on attending! So…What exactly is the Spring FOS/Court of Honor? All year, our scouts work hard on their advancements – Merit Badges, Ranks, and special achievements. While we pass out the awards each Tuesday night, it is only at the Court of Honor that everyone gets to see all the hard work that the scouts have done. Every achievement, rank and merit badge is recognized. Please come and support the great achievements of Troop 555! In addition, this is the annual Friends of Scouting presentation. Friends of Scouting is the major fund raising program for the council that supports our council camps (including Brady Saunders) and staff. (Come hear about the accomplishments and needs of the council, and if you are so inclined you will have an opportunity to contribute.)

There is no cost for the Dinner – The troop provides Lasagna (meat and vegetarian) Bread, and Salad. We do ask for help with Sides and Dessert, set-up and clean up. If you or your son is in the Border patrol, please bring a dessert, and come early to help set-up (arrive between 6:00 and 6:15). If you or your son is in the IPONA patrol, please bring a side dish and be willing to stay a few minutes late to clean up. We also need a few volunteers to help in the Kitchen. Diane Francis has graciously agreed to head-up the dinner, so if you can/will volunteer please contact her by e-mail at ribax4@yahoo.com.

March PLC is scheduled for March 15th at 7:30 PM at the Carson Building. If you are an officer and are unable to attend you must notify the Scoutmaster. We will work on March and April Meetings. Please go to link below.

Do you want to be more involved with the Troop but don’t want to go camping? Please consider joining the committee. The Troop Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM. Duties include budget, advancement, fundraising and leadership review.

Geocaching Camping Weekend at Lake Anna State Park March23rd – March 25th. ( this is a change, several leaders had work/family conflicts on March 9th – 11th.) – The troop will leave from the Carson building Friday evening, March 23 at 6:00 PM ET and drive to Lake Anna State Park. Saturday the Troop will hunt caches using a GPS device. The troop will return Sunday around 11:30 AM to the Carson Building. (Times subject to change)

If you have any current merit badge books that you are willing to part with – Please donate them to our troop library
