Please join us for an evening of canoeing on Forest Lake! The 08/14/12 troop meeting will be held on the Forest Lake Dam where we will go over basic canoe paddling, launching and safety followed by boating events on the water. Please meet at the dam at 7:30 PM. Wear class B uniforms and bring your fishing gear as well! We expect to finish around 8:30 PM.

We will have three canoes and one kayak…if you can bring another canoe or kayak PLEASE DO!! Directions to the dam and lake are as follows.

From New Hanover Presbyterian Church:

Cross over 301/Chamberlayne Rd to New Ashcake Road, travel 2.3 miles

Turn right onto Linderwood Dr/State Route 1217, travel 0.8 miles

Destination will be on the left!

11148 Linderwood Drive is the approximate address

See you at 7:30 Tuesday!!

Don’t forget your water bottle and bug spray.

August PLC is scheduled for Thursday, August 16th (THIS IS A CHANGE) at 7:30 PM at the Carson Building. If you are an officer and are unable to attend you must notify the Scoutmaster. We will work on August and September Meetings. Please go to link below, and come to the meeting prepared.

Kickback camping weekend 8/24 – 8/26 at Eagle Point. Please sign up, there is no better way to end your summer than at the shore of the Kerr Reservoir, swimming, fishing, stargazing and usually the best camp cooking of the year.

Do you want to be more involved with the Troop but don’t want to go camping? Please consider joining the committee. The Troop Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 PM. Duties include budget, advancement, fundraising and leadership review.

If you have any current merit badge books that you are willing to part with– Please donate them to our troop library
