Why Join Scouting?

Originally founded in Great Britain by Lord Baden-Powell the Boy Scout movement was incorporated in the United States in 1910. In 1916, Congress granted a charter to the Boy Scouts of America to make the program available through community organizations.
The Boy Scouts of America program is designed to help develop in youth desirable qualities of character, to teach and promote the skills of Scouting, to train them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and to develop in them fitness - based on duty to God and country.

Boy Scout Troop 888 (Silicon Valley, Pacific Skyline Council) would like to invite prospective Boy Scouts to check out our small, boy-led troop.

We offer opportunities for leadership, service, adventure and fun!

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people
to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes
by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
