Winter Camporee 2013 - Skirmish at Camp Cabarrus

At this Civil War living history event, the 63rd Regiment of NC Troops set up a typical camp of Civil War soldiers. The regiment displayed and described what a day in the life of a Civil War Soldier would have been like. After Lunch the re-enactors had a skirmish on the grounds of Camp Cabarrus, complete with loud blackpowder gunfire. Meals for the entire weekend were prepared in Civil War era fashion - in cast iron cookware with only hot coals for cooking power.
