Welcome to Troop 74 - Allentown, PA

Why should you join Boy Scout Troop 74?

First let's see if you meet the age requirements.  You must be a boy who is 11 years old, or have completed the fifth grade or as a Cub Scout earned the Arrow of Light award and are at least 10 years of age and under the age of 18.

Troop 74 is a traditional Boy Scout unit which was chartered in 1938 by The Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena located at 1825 West Turner Street in Allentown, PA.

Our Troop is open to any boy who meets the age requirements regardless of religious affiliation.

We participate in various camping and outdoor activities year round, community service projects and have lots of fun!  Our slogan is "Learning Through Experience."

We meet every Tuesday night from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Parish Activity Center. Most of our Scouts participate in a number of various activities including, sports, band at the intramural and varsity levels.  Because of this we have added an additional meeting on Sunday (time TBD) to "catch up" on advancement, merit badge work or information that they missed at our regular meeting.

Want more information?  Check out our About Us page or contact our Scoutmaster.

We hope to see you at our next meeting.

Why Scouting?

As Scoutmaster I truly believe what I am going to tell you now.  Ask your parents and other adults one question.  What do you have on your resume from your High School years? Most will say nothing.  But, there is one thing that you can accomplish as a young man, that stays with you for the rest of your life.  It shows commitment, dedication, determination and leadership skills and places you a notch above everyone else.

That is earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
