What we do

If you are a member of Troop 295 then you will have plenty of opportunities to get outdoors and go camping or to help provide service to the community. Every year the Scouts select the activities for the coming 12 months. Below is a list of some of the things we did in 2017/18, all planned by the Scouts. The links further below provide a lot more detail.

  • Camp Constantin - Summer Camp 2018
  • Haines, Alaska - High Adventure 2018
  • Eisenhower State Park
  • Cedar Hills

Troop Outings

  • 1 Hour to Escape
  • Smash Bros Tournament
  • Medieval Times

  • Memorial Day flags
  • Cub-O-Ree
  • Scouting for Food

Meetings : The Troop meets the first two Mondays of every month at 7:30pm at Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church.

Camping : The troop endeavors to camp every month. Each year we also attend Summer and Winter Camps and have one High adventure camp for the older scouts. Click on the link to find out more about our camps and see where the troop has been recently.

Service to the Community : Service to the community is a very important part of the Scout curriculum and Troop 295 has a very strong history of giving back to the community. We participate in many service activities during the year and in 2018 we were awarded the Unit Community Service Award for the Golden Arrow District. Click on the link to learn more.

Training - Training is ESSENTIAL if a Troop is to reach its potential. Click on the link to see how the troop trains its scouts and adult leaders.

Fundraising - The Troop has a number of fundraising events that scouts can use to help pay for their camping adventures. Unlike Cub Scouts, each scout in the troop has a "camp account" and the money that they raise is kept in that account and can be used to fund camping fees. If a scout participates in most of these programs they could easily cover the cost of Summer Camp. Click on the link to learn more about the fundraising that the troop does.
