Welcome to Trivandrum Social Research Institute. We are a non-profit research front dedicated to realistic research on social, scientific and political issues that are going to affect the common man adversely. Our many research reports were sent to concerned authorities in the past, with people and media knowing nothing about their content. It was a time when government authorities expressed concern and took action. When news paper reports on corruption in government institutions appeared, cuttings were made by vigilance wings of the respective departments and sent to the responsible institutions, demanding explanation and action. Today no government authority take note and act. It is now time for people's direct action. Many very top-level government officials think corruption, lawlessness and maladministration is their birth right. They are crimes against the civilian society. We, accordingly, have decided to inform people first. That is the simple and humble objective of this venue.
OUR CAT'S EYE RESERVES
How Cat's Eye Reserves Embedded In River Rocks Add Health And Beauty To People There And How Extraction Affects Stability
River sand has been a very great issue in Kerala, in India and in almost all countries of the world, the uncontrolled and excessive mining of which leading to depletion of land water, drying up and dying out of rivers and so many ecological and environmental problems, and its not-mining leading to stillness in construction industry and loss of employment opportunities and livelihood. We have been conducting studies on this problem, and also enforcing a partial ban though through uncouth methods, we admit, involving forest department personnel who are more committed than the careless revenue personnel. These studies and the follow-up actions were carried out in the name of Kerala People's Vigilenz which is an imaginary organization which ought to have existed in this land. We even came up with a book 'The River Sand' which describes the adventures of this imaginary front. Those who control the empire of the river sand is very powerful and there were certainly retaliations too. You can read about the many aspects of this issue here.
