DeLorean History- The DMC-12 (often referred to as "The DeLorean" is a sports car that was manufactured by DeLorean Motor Company from 1981-1983. The car was designed by Giorgetto Giuiaro.
The VIN- DeLorean owners refer to each other by their VIN number. This is because the DeLorean has not been newly built since 1983* & the VIN of each car shares the history of that particular car.
The New DeLorean- The new DeLorean will be an electric vehicle. The following figures are estimated. 0-88mph in 4.35 sec., 0-60mph in 2.99 sec., Top Speed 155mph, Range 300+ Miles, Battery100+ kWh, Drag Coef. 0.23Cd. To learn more about the New DeLorean, visit https://delorean.com/
True- Yes, the remains from the original DeLorean Motor Company have been purchased and you can purchase parts from them (The New DeLorean Motor Company). There are many other vendors that have parts for the DeLorean. Some believe it is difficult to get parts but it is actually extremely easy.
Engine- The engine is a 2.85 V-6 PRV Engine. The PRV was mainly used by Volvo. The PRV is known for the Bosch K-Jetronic Fuel Injection system. This is a mechanical fuel injection system, not like modern-day electric fuel injection. The DeLorean did not come originally with a Chevy 350. Many people know that John DeLorean was a division head for GM and assume that a 350 was used in the DeLorean. This is not the case as DeLorean was determined to make his own company successful after leaving GM.
Dimensions- Wheelbase = 94.8", Length = 168.11". Width = 72.83", Height = 46.06 ", Ground Clearance 5.51"
