Music Director: Elaine Conger
Elaine Conger is a degreed music educator and Orff-Schulwerk specialist, who has a passion for instilling a love for the arts in people of all ages. Before coming to Trinity Gatlinburg, she served as the music director and organist at Grace Episcopal in Paris, TN for 11 years. Although she grew up playing piano as a Methodist and singing Southern Gospel with her Baptist father, she fell in love with the liturgy of the Episcopal Church and was received in 2011. While at Grace, she became a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King and served as a mentor for Education for Ministry (EfM). Her years as a professional musician include playing keyboards and singing back-up vocals for country artist Faith Hill and performing on the General Jackson Showboat in Nashville. She has musically directed and accompanied numerous musical theater productions and even starred in a few herself. Her favorite role to date is as Patsy in "Always, Patsy Cline." She and her husband Larry operate The Conger Music Studio offering private and group instruction in piano, guitar, voice, and mountain dulcimer. (Look for them on Facebook!) When they are not at home, they can be found around the country teaching mountain dulcimer at numerous festivals and workshops.
