2016 Proposed Selected Races:

posted Dec 10, 2015, 10:41 AM by Randy Leach

It is that time of the year where the Trifury membership begins the selections process for the 2016 Trifury Selected Race Calendar. As in year's past, races that are well attended (more than a dozen participants) and continue to receive membership positive feedback are retained by the Trifury Board.  Races that are not as well attended, or produce negative feedback are reviewed, reconsidered, and at time replaced as per direction of the Trifury Board.   Below is the initial list of races that will be included on the 2016 Selected Race calendar. These races have met the criteria of a dozen or more participants, or are races that were added to the calendar for a specific purpose (Escape The Cape).  Please note that any Ironman, USAT National or World Championship race will continue to be included in the schedule due to the special nature of those races.

You will notice that several races from last year are not currently included on the schedule.  This is due to the fact that the race did not meet the participant minimum to automatically be included in the upcoming year. If there is any existing race that you feel should be included/excluded, or any new race, or race that had previously appeared on the Selected Race calendar, that you feel should be considered, please send me (rleach770@yahoo.com) an email and let me know of the race, the date that it occurs, and why you believe it should be included.  The Trifury Board will next meet on January 4th to consider any races that have been suggested, and whatever races that are added at that time will be also added to the list and communicated to the membership in a timely manner.

Upcoming Dates/Events

posted Sep 10, 2015, 10:11 AM by Cindy Regnante

[From Dave Tyler]

Hello again,

This Sunday is the Call to Honor Triathlon at Stiles Pond in Boxford.  If you still need any TriFury gear, be it a tri top, tri shorts, tech shirt, swim cap, socks, visor, etc. or just want a cool TriFury temporary tattoo, then look for the TriFury tent before or after the race to buy whatever you like.  Cash or check only.

Good luck to those coming to race at our home turf or who are headed off to Pumpkinman or Title 9 this weekend as well.   Its a big weekend for triathlon, enjoy.  If you're racing Pumpkinman Sprint on Saturday, look for Barry Lewin who will also be handing out TriFury temp tattoos at the bike racks before the race.

A reminder that our rotating club meetings continue on Monday 9/21 at 7PM this month Skybox in Tewksbury. Free Pizza and Salad, and lots of networking and fun conversation, with guest speaker Jason Gootman, co-owner and coach at Tri-Hard who always does excellent informative presentations and will be speaking about nutrition.

Looking ahead, our October general club meeting will be on Monday 10/19/2015 at Polcari's in Woburn.  The guest speaker will be TriFury teammate Tom Kinneman who will talk about his experience last year at the Ironman World Championships in  Kona.  We also plan to celebrate all the returning Ironman Maryland finishers that night.

And make sure you book in your calendar that our season ending awards dinner will be held on Sunday 11/15.  Tickets will go on sale shortly.  Its an event not to be missed at the Atkinson Country Club.

2015 Try the Tri

posted Jun 5, 2015, 5:46 AM by Cindy Regnante

Our first Try the Tri is next Wednesday June 10 and we would like to welcome Scott Casper as our new race director.   While much of the race remains familiar we are making a few adjustments this year.

·       There will be a special focus on supporting beginners with a dedicated bike rack and an onsite mentor
·       On July 8th we will host a kids race at 6:00 followed by an abbreviated Try the Tri for beginners
·       Registration forms will be completed just once at your first race
·       The pre-race meeting will be held each week at 6:15
·       This year we are asking that you volunteer once for each 4 races that you complete
·       More information to come but we are adding theme nights!

A complete description of Try the Tri can be found here:

As a reminder your membership must be current to participate.  If not, you can renew here:

If you have a friend that would like to participate they may come as a guest once (lifetime) after which they must join TriFury to participate again.

We’re forever grateful to Claire Cloutier for building such a great introduction into our sport. The entire 2015 season will be dedicated to Claire and her vision of growing our sport and TriFury.
