About the ride

A tweed ride is a metropolitan bike ride with a flair of 'old world' style and merrymaking.  The ride is intended to be slow-paced and sociable.

We encourage bikes of ALL STYLES at this event.  Although we know you want to, we don't expect you to buy a new bike to match your outfit!

We invite you to put on a fun frock and join us as we raise donations in style while drawing awareness to the growing number of bicyclists in the triangle.

Ladies and gents, dress in your best tweed! No spandex!

Check in between 10:00-11:00 on the day of the event.  The 10 mile ride will begin promptly at noon.

We encourage participants to arrive early as there will be photographers on site to capture raffish riders as they mingle on the cobblestone streets of historic City Market.

Mechanics from Oak City Cycling Project will be available from 10:00-11:30 to assist with minor mechanical issues but please arrive with tires pumped up and bikes tuned up, ready to ride.

After the ride, participants are invited back to Benelux Cafe for refreshments supplied by New Belgium Brewing.   Awards will be given by for the most stylish riders who participated in the ride and we will be raffling off several door prizes from our sponsors.

Parking is readily available around Moore Square.  The nearest garage is the Blount Street Deck.
