BE A TREV !
In district eligible players live within the New Trier High School district communities of Wilmette, Kenilworth, Winnetka, Glencoe and Northfield Illinois.

For select teams and positions (see above) TGSA will open district eligibility requirements.

Most tryouts consist of two days of skills evaluation and team scrimmaging. It is the objective of the TGSA to field a number of teams that strikes the best balance of skill level appropriateness and competitiveness.

All 10 and under eligible girls are evaluated for existing or potential basic skills including throwing, hitting, catching, running and are considered for a team based on their abilities. Special emphasis during the 10U tryouts will be to provide instruction on softball fundamentals over a pure tryout format to create a more enjoyable and fun environment for the players.

Pitchers
Pitchers play a distinctive role on a fastpitch team. The mechanics and fundamentals to pitching are unique requiring extra practice and specialized training, in addition to game experience.

The TGSA assists in the development of pitchers by organizing and subsidizing professional fastpitch instructors and scheduling lessons throughout the year. It is highly encouraged for parents and players interested in developing their pitching skills to fully understand the expectations and opportunities in pursuing this position.

REQUIRED PARENT MEETING
It is a requirement that at least one parent attend a meeting during the tryout session to review the TGSA expectations for players, parents and team composition as well as answer questions.

If you have further questions or if you are not sure of your daughter's eligibility:  Please email Glenn Trout, TGSA President.
