We meet monthly to:

Visitors are welcome to attend any of the meetings. 

Club meeting is the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Come early at 6:00pm and carve until the meeting starts.

 Sailing Ship Relief Carving

 

                          

 Our next club project starting in January will be the Sailing Ship relief carving, pictured above. 

This pattern is a small project intended for carvers who want to try relief carving for the first time after having first sampled other types of carving.

Tools for Ship Carving:                                                                     

·         Small U Gouge                                                                         

·         Large U Gouge 1/2in or smaller                                           

·         Detail Knife

      and transfer paper

Paints and finishing techniques will be addressed as you work on your project. 

Basswood blanks will be available at the prices below:

9 x 13 x 1” thick oval Straight Edge, $13.00 each

9 x 13 oval x 1” thick oval, Routed edge, $20.00 each

9 x 12 board x 1” thick, $10.00 Each

11 x 12 board x 1” thick , $13.00

 If interested, we ask that you sign up so there are enough patterns, directions and blanks available.

Club members, Bob Stadtlander and Kenny Smith will be helping with this project.

Bob will also have any other supplies you may need to complete  this project.
