We meet monthly to:

Visitors are welcome to attend any of the meetings. 

We meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Come early at 6:30 pm and carve until the meeting starts.

                       Learn to Carve a Fanbird

Classes start on October 10th 
With Bob Stadtlander

 * Learn to make this traditional symbol of health and good luck based on the old-world skills of Europe.   

* These are carved from a cedar blank out of one piece of wood.  

(The size of the cedar blank is 6 inches or 7 inches long x 2-1/2" wide x ½ inch thick.)

Cost is $7.00 for each 5" cedar blank and $8.00 for each 6" cedar blank. 

* This project is for all levels.

   

Students should bring their normal carving tools along with the following:

        * Bench Knife or Flexcut Pelican Knife              (KN18)
        * Flexcut Draw Knife (KN25),
        * 6" Outside Calipers,
        * 6" ruler,
        * Portable vise
        * Carving glove recommended, but not               required.


** Bob also recommends picking up at least one the following books before the class: Fan-Carving, or ....more Fan Carving by Dave and Sally Nye.

** Bob will have extra vises and draw knives for students to use during the class along with vises, calipers, bench knives, gouges, pelican knives, draw knives and books for sale.
