Landscape and Environmental Design (AFB40) invites all those interested to submit applications for a poster display at the TRB Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C., January 7-11, 2018. This year’s Annual Meeting theme is: Moving the Economy of the Future.

The purpose of the poster session is to showcase research and projects that highlight innovative transportation landscape and environmental design practice. Research relating to technical approaches employed during resource assessment and impact analysis or similar environmental processes,technical approaches used for integrating natural resource and transportation, planning novel regulatory compliance and permitting approaches, successful mitigation and enhancement applications, environmental stewardship, lessons learned and other landscape design related aspects of project development, including visual impact assessment and documentation methods, technical approaches used for integrating social, economic or environmental functions into transportation projects. We also welcome finished and on-going projects from broad environmental design areas such as Green Streets, Roadsides for Pollinators, Complete Streets, Transportation Design Impacts on Main Streets as it relates to the scope of this committee, as well as landscape design for road safety applications, and art in transportation.


The Submission Deadline is September 15, 2017.

TRB AFB40 2017 Mid-Year Committee Meeting

Retrofitting for Resilience
The Transportation Research Board Committee on Landscape & Environmental Design (AFB40) will hold its 2017 mid-year meeting in Hartford, CT on August 6-9, 2017.  Delois Barnes, ASLA, Transportation Landscape Designer and her colleagues with the Connecticut Department of Transportation have developed an exciting and educational agenda for the meeting.   
The 2017 mid-year meeting is titled Retrofitting for Resilience and will focus on educational sessions, case study presentations and site reviews of exemplary projects in the Connecticut area. An interesting and informative day of educational presentations is scheduled for Monday, August 7th and site reviews of local transportation projects is scheduled for Tuesday August 8th. 

Early Bird Registration Ends July 19, 2017
Full Registration includes education sessions, tours and meals.   $260 Early Bird,  $300 after July 19th
Monday Registration includes education sessions, breakfast and lunch.   $80 Early Bird,  $100 after July 19th
Monday Student Registration with valid student identification.  $25

Please see the attached fill-able PDF file for submission of a Poster proposal for the upcoming Annual Meeting.  Please help in getting this information out to others.
The submission deadline for poster ideas is August 21st.  Please follow the instructions provided on the form.
Thank you ahead of time for your consideration of this and help in getting it out.  I will look for Committee volunteers to assist with reviewing the submissions.
