Deoria Tal

Deoria Tal (Also known as Devaria Tal) is a lake located about 3 Km on an uphill trek from Village Sari, on the Ukhimath-Chopta road.

Situated at an altitude of about 2438m (8,000'), it has lush green surroundings, snow covered mountains starting from Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Bandarpunch, Yellow Tooth, Kedar Range, Kalanag, etc. The lake is mostly famous for its wide 300° panorama. There exists another route from Deoria Tal to Tungnath, which is mainly choosen as Night Camping, Jungle Trekking, etc.
Jeeps are available from Ukhimath to reach Sari, via Mastura. However in the time of returning one has to wait for ages for a jeep, or go down trekking to Matura to search for share jeeps.

It is believed that it was the place from where the mighty Pandavas were asked queries by Yaksha. The lake is surrounded in a soothingly inclined field bounded by a deep wood cover. Lakes emerald waters are ideally matched with the rhododendrons and the lofty tree Mahal, with pure pallid flower heads. Set majestically in the lap of the magnificent mountain peaks, the lake provides a great reflection of the snow covered mountain peaks.
