College List

  • Research colleges and create a list of potential places to apply (Junior Year)
  • Visit colleges if possible (Junior Year)
  • Finalize list of colleges you’re applying to (Sep of Senior Year)

 

Meet with Ms. Kleeman

  • Schedule an appointment and then check in with Ms. Kleeman early and often; she is an invaluable resource in the college search and application process

 

SATs

  • Register for and take the pSAT (Sep of Junior Year)
  • Apply for SAT accommodations (Oct of Junior Year)
  • Study for SAT (Spring of Junior Year)
  • Take free SAT preparation classes at M-A (Spring of Junior Year)
  • Register for and take SAT (Mar of Junior Year)
  • Retake SAT if needed (Sep of Senior Year)

 

Letters of Recommendation

  • Establish a connection with two content teachers (Junior Year)
  • Request two letters of recommendation (May of Junior Year)
  • Compile and submit teacher recommendation letter packets (Oct of Senior Year)

 

Personal Statement

  • Write a draft of your personal statement essay (Summer before Senior Year)
  • Request lots of feedback, revise and write the final draft of your  personal statement (Oct of Senior Year)

 

Financial Aid

  • Research and apply for scholarships that you qualify for (Junior and Senior Year)
  • Submit the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) (Mar of Senior Year)
