Discussion Groups

Transition Longfellow members facilitate discussion groups on topics related to transition: sustainability, food production, ways to reduce carbon and other greenhouse gases, energy conservation. Groups are free and open to the public. You can join at any time. Child care is not provided but you can bring children with you. 
  • Food & Herb Plant Families Discussion Group: Each month we'll explore a different plant family indepth, looking at how to grow, harvest, cook and store different vegetables, berries, fruits and herbs.
  • Sustainable Finance/Sustainable Life Discussion GroupDo you want to live more frugally, consciously and sustainably? Do you want to transform your relationship with money while investing in the economy of the future? Learn, share and find support in making the changes you’d like to make in your life, your home and your community.
  • "Economics of Happiness" film discussion group. This group will meet on 2nd and 4th Sundays, from 2 to 3 pm at Lake Street Coffee. They will be using the film discussion guide provided by the filmmaker, taking two topics at a time. For info, email Amy.
  • "THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING" book discussion group begins April 11, 11 am at Lake Street Coffee on 33rd Ave and East Lake. Pick up the book in advance of the first session.
