We’ve all seen projects managed via emails or on paper.  Working on projects together means that we have to communicate in some fashion and emails and paper does accomplish this, but it can leave individuals in the project wondering if they read the latest on the project, missed an email or misplaced a memo.  SharePoint enables users to see the project and all of the communication about the project in one location, while also receiving status updates in a more traditional format via email for those that are interested.

Our helpdesk is transitioning from emails and paper to SharePoint projects/tasks. As a helpdesk worker, you can view all the details of the task/project that you are assigned. When you complete the task, you update the status to complete. This sends an email to management with the task and the details of the task that you were assigned.

Video and pdf job aids are listed here for employees and for managers.
