Hello and Welcome!

Anchorage Transition is a community-based, community-led networking organization, in which all those interested in building resilient and sustainable communities in Anchorage can connect, find fellowship, share information, create partnerships, and celebrate steps forward.

Our goal is to educate the community of Anchorage one neighborhood at a time about Peak Oil, Climate Change and our Economic Crises and then inspire everyone to live more sustainably into the future.  Let's make Anchorage an official Transition Town.

Our mission is simple:

Connect groups working for a more sustainable Anchorage in order to bring the movement into reality;

Educate the community about the colliding issues of:
 i) the end of cheap oil;
 ii) climate changes and;
 iii) our debt crisis

Re-skill the younger generation by connecting with those in the older generation who still know how to live sustainably  i.e. canning, darning, sewing, preserving, gardening, etc.

It takes YOU AND ME  to change our community.
Don't wait any longer.
