A little collection of how various denominations are responding to transgenderism

I wish I could provide some kind of directory of actual parishes for transgender Christians but there are many things that make this difficult. Of the parishes that affirm transgenderism, most are in a denomination where each parish decides what it believes. So even though many Episcopal are welcome, many are not. Most independent parishes do not have a doctrine on transgenderism because no one has ever brought it up before. A good strategy is to look for churches that are inclusive of lesbians and gays, but even that is imperfect; some LGB churches are not LGBT churches. Even with an accepting parish, if they have never had a transgender member, they may not know how to be inclusive; that's workable, but difficult. This page has a collection of denominations and alliances that say that affirm trans people, but you may want to call the pastor ahead of time.
