The Sierra TrailBlazers Running Club (STRC) formed in 1978 in Nevada County, California. We promote and encourage walking, jogging, and running as a sport and healthy exercise, with the emphasis on the "family." Anyone may join regardless of sex, age, or athletic ability. As a club we engage in community activities and social events to publicize the benefits of walking, jogging, and running. For our members, we offer a variety of events from training for ultras to 5k races to casual trail and/or road runs.
Read our newsletter and get an idea of the various events we attend, the local participation, and the enthusiasm from our members - old and young, newbies to veteran runners, covering all distances from a couple kilometers to 100 milers. Whether you are looking to improve your health, your attitude, or you run just to get out of the house and get some "me" time, join us and meet some new people from all walks of life. We typically have regularly scheduled runs on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and various runs on weekends. There is something that will fit into your schedule.
We run in and around Grass Valley, Nevada City, and Auburn and around the Sierra Nevada mountains, and attend races anywhere in the west that sounds fun!
A group trail run along the Pacific Crest Trail near Castle Peak during the summer of 2016.
The obvious question is, where is the group?
We were all behind the camera that day, taking in the beauty of the mountains.
