How to Manage Tracfone Minutes
You may purchase Track Phone cards at many stores like Best Buy, Safeway, Wal-Mart, Staples, or K-Mart but I recommend buying the cards at the Tracfone.com site for several reasons. You often get better deals at the Tracfone site than you will get at the stores. You will have a larger variety of phones to choose from at the Tracfone web site.
Motorola W370 from Tracfone
Often at the Tracfone.com web site you can purchase a phone and get more minutes than if you purchase a card. There is a special that Tracfone has run several times where for $20 you get two $20 phone cards and a free refurbished phone. If available is only in the Buy Phones section. If you go to the buy airtime section of the Tracfone.com site you will pay full price for the phone cards.
- If your phone is lost, stolen or broken it is hard to get your minutes back on a new phone from Tracfone.
- Also I have found when I have a lot of minutes on my phones I burn more minutes.
I know this is just the opposite of what I just said in the previous paragraph but you get more minutes for your money when you buy the larger Tracfone card.
I do not feel the One Year Tracfone Plan is a good deal. Again if your cell phone is broken, lost or stolen it will be a pain getting Tracfone customer service to transfer these benefits to your next phone.
Use Tracfone Bonus codes and purchase your minutes on special you can get more activation time and or TracFone Minutes with the money than you can get with the one year plan.
Also you have paid for a full year of access and if you start using your phone more you could have gotten a lot more minutes for the same money.
Buy The Doubler Card on the phone, even if you only talk for 100-200 minutes per month you are probably better off buying a Tracfone with the doubler card included. The DMFL card will cost you $50 but you can buy the Tracfone Motorola W370 with doubler for $50 or less, you will get the doubler for free. If you live in CDMA territory then you will be able to buy the LG 3280 with DMFL for $50.
If you are certain you will use no more than 70 minutes per month you can purchase a Tracfone without the DMFL. Otherwise you are much better off spending a little bit more on a phone with the DMFL (double minutes for life).
The Moto W370 and the Lg cg225 phones now always come with Tracfone DMFL (double minutes for life). The nicest phones available from Tracfone. Usually the price is the same as you will pay to add DMFL to your current phone. I recommend you purchase the phone with DMFL included.
For anyone who will use over 400 minutes per month look closely at getting a regular contract phone from Verizon, Cingular, T-Mobile with "in-network" calling.
The critical thing about buying a Contract Cell Phone is that you buy from the carrier as the people you talk with regularly. Then you will not be charged for minutes to the other people that are on your network.
My son occasionally talks over 1000 minutes most months but has never gone over his 450 minutes because most of his friends are on Verizon and he has the free "In Network" calling.
