In the Twin Peaks Middle School Science Olympiad student club, we learn about science and have fun. The program allows students to engage in science in a unique manner that increases their curiosity. Our students participate in exciting, challenging and fun events while they learn scientific problem-solving in a team environment. In September, participants choose events in which to compete and then prepare for them over the next five months. Preparation involves attending weekly sessions with their team and coach(es). Sessions may be held before or after school, in the evenings or even on weekends, depending on the schedules of the coaches and students. Our club is organized and run by parent volunteers.

We compete at the San Diego Regional Science Olympiad event. The regional and national Science Olympiad associations for which we are a part of can be found at https://scilympiad.com/ and www.soinc.org.
