is the open office database.  It is a full version of HSQL  It supports many formats so it reads and writes files that are interchangable with those created in MySQL, Microsoft Access, dBase and other applications.

Online help  - Solveig Haugland book on OpenOffice 1.0 is in the library.  Her book on 2.0 will not be published until June.  Meanwhile she has been posting tips online via a blog.
