Room B and Senior Room: Be sure to choose Slovenian from the drop-down menu before you log on. Then as you write, you can toggle on and off a Latin alphabet with diacritical marks. As there are such a variety of diacritical marks used, please consult the tables closely. You will be able to produce most of them.
Please read the rules. We want to keep the equipment safe and to provide a pleasant environment for everyone. Clicking on the ‘accept' button means you understand and agree to follow these rules. If you disobey the rules, you may lose the right to use these computers for a time.
You must have a valid Takoma Park Maryland Library card and an identification number to use the computers. You can get the card and number at the Library. Please do not share your numbers with others.
If you are younger than 16 years old, you will have only filtered access to the Internet. If you are 16 years old or older, filtering is optional. If you cannot access something you need, ask a staff person for help.
If you are younger than 8 years old, you may not use the computers directly. You can work with a parent or guardian who is using a computer.
No large-screen video is allowed because it drains most of the computer power and causes problems for other people who are using the same computer.
The City of Takoma Park is not responsible for any property you leave in the computer rooms or in the Library including bags, disks, flash drives or other objects.
The larger computer room is for people who want to work in small groups, get help from a staff person, talk quietly or use portable telephones. If you want help or company, please use this room.
The smaller room is for individual users who don't need help and who prefer a silent atmosphere to do their work. Please help us to maintain the quiet.
We invite you to use the computers in the Library if you need help searching for information. Expert library workers are there to help you.
Wherever you work, please read the help pages. These pages have important information on topics such as saving your work and printing. You can find the pages by clicking on the home button on your browser.
Please, you must be careful with the equipment. No food or drink is allowed in the computer center.
All people using the computer rooms should treat one another with respect. Please, no disruptive behavior or abusive language.
All uses of the computers must be lawful. Do not send threatening e-mail. Obey copyright laws including, but not limited to, laws concerning videos, music, images and other registered material. Do not tamper with, copy, or change network systems, software, or accounts.
Do not display or print pornography. Please remember - these are not your personal computers and the screens are not private. They are viewable by anyone who might walk past, including children.
Sometimes staff members need to take appropriate actions to repair problems and to enforce rules. Therefore staff members may need to observe Internet and other uses, question users, and restrict conduct which violates the rules.
The city will not act in place of the parents. The parent or guardian is responsible for what a child does. Parents or guardians who are concerned about their child's Internet use should provide guidance to their own children and not to others.
We want you to use and enjoy these public computers. They are a gift to you from the Takoma Foundation, the Friends of the Takoma Park Maryland Library and the Friends of Mike Morrissey.
