Renew items

 You may renew your items at ANY time!  No need to call or wait for the library to be open, because you can easily do ONLINE RENEWAL right now! 

To renew items:
  1. Click on the link above (or on the home page) to get you to the Decorah Public Library "my library info" webpage. 
  2. Enter your library card number and last name to view all items you have checked out from the DPL and Toys Go 'Round. 
  3. You may select items to be renewed on the far right AND click renew on the bottom.  You will then see a new due date for your items.
* Please note that you may renew items once and only items that are not already overdue. 
Circulation Policy

All materials:

                -three week check-out period

                -No grace period

                -Items may be renewed once, unless on reserve



Items may be renewed once unless on reserve. Renewals may be done by online, over the phone, or in person. Any item on reserve for another patron may not be renewed.



Items may be placed on reserve when unavailable. Only items currently in the catalog may be placed on reserve. The patron will be notified by postcard, e-mail or phone when it becomes available. If an item is unclaimed in seven working days after notification, it will be taken off hold and returned back into circulation.


Overdue fines:

Fines are calculated at 10 per day for books, magazines, puppets, audio cassettes, books on CD and non-fiction videos.  

The maximum fine per person shall not exceed the total replacement value of all items.

Fines accrue and apply to all patrons regardless of age.

Exempt: staff, schools, nursing homes, care facilities, jail

Toys Go Round Fines are to be paid in the Toys Go Round Library.


Lost and/or Damaged Items:

Patrons are expected to pay the list price of the lost or damaged item. Receipts will be issued for the paid item. Refunds will be made for paid items that are returned with the receipt or documentation noted.


Check-out of materials and computer usage will be denied to patrons that have a fine over $5.00. Warning letters and Municipal Infractions may be issued whenever the library has a concern regarding the return materials.
