Marching Band



Marching Band Mandatory Meeting is Wednesday, May 31 at Towson High School in the Auditorium from 7-8 pm. Students who wish to participate in marching band should plan to attend with a parent. ALL Marching band INFORMATION and PAPERWORK will be distributed at this meeting. Email contact is Mr. Rhen, drhen@bcps.org




To get prepared for the new school year, there is the Marching Band Mini-Camp (at THS in early August) followed by the annual one-week Marching Band Camp (in Darlington, MD).

Mini-Camp Information:
  • This annual 2-day camp helps to ensure that the students know the material before the one-week camp.
  • First Tuesday and Thursday in August. 9am to 4pm. THS room 255

Band Camp Information:

  • This annual one-week (Sunday through Friday) sleepover camp is held in August, the week after Mini-Camp.
  • Camp Ramblewood is located on 2564 Silver Rd in Darlington, Maryland 21034. Click here for the Ramblewood website.
  • This camp is required for all marching band participants. No Exceptions! 
Band Camp Schedule:
  • Please arrive at the camp by 2 pm on Sunday.
  • Orientation for parents and students from 2:30 to 3 pm, Sunday.
  • Parents pick-up their students on Friday at 1 pm.
  • The students will then perform their field show from 1-2 pm.
  • Depart Friday by 2pm.

  • Registration and Permission Form
  • Camper Health History Form
  • Medication Administration Authorization Form (must be signed by your doctor)
  • Emergency Contact Medical Information Form
  • Uniform Measurement Form.

Cost of Band Camp:

  • $525 per child
  • The fee covers the participation and uniform cleaning costs.
Financial Aid
  • Financial assistance is available.
  • Parents are expected to pay at least 60% of the cost.
  • Complete the form located at the bottom of this page.  Instructions are on the form.
