Reisterstown Parade (Sept)

The annual Reisterstown Festival Parade is held in (where else) historic downtown Reisterstown, Maryland in early September.


  • Students should meet at THS room 255 at 7 am
  • Change into uniforms at THS between 7 to 7:30 am
  • Leave for the parade at 7:45 am
  • Parade from 9am to noon
  • When there is a home football game, the students return to the school at Noon. Kickoff is at 1 pm. Students will be dismissed after the game at 4 pm.

Please remember to:

  • Wear your Marching Band T-shirt
  • Wear black socks
  • Wear your Dinkles
  • Bring your instrument
  • Bring money for our lunch stop after the parade
  • Ladies' hair should be in two French braids with black rubber bands for the parade. They usually help each other while they're getting ready.

  • The route is just less than 1.5 miles. The parade route - starts at the intersection of Cockeysmill Road & Main Street, travels south (Main Street becoming Reisterstown Road), and ends at the traffic light at Reisterstown Road & the Reisterstown Shopping Center (at the Franklin High School entrance).
  • A lot of parents watch the parade in front of 415 Main St at the corner of Main and Shirley Ave.  Arrive by 8:30am.


  • Beltway to 795
  • Take exit 7A onto Franklin Blvd
  • Left onto Reisterstown Road. The parade ends at the Reisterstown Shopping Center, which is on the right.

Please email Mr. Rhen at at least 2 weeks in advance if you must miss a marching band performance or practice.
