Band, Orchestra and Chorus BCPS Assessments (March)

Every year in early March, there is an assessment conducted by the school system of the choral and instrumental ensembles in every Baltimore County middle and high school.  Students should plan to perform in these assessments.  Specific dates will be listed for THS ensembles as soon as we are given our time slots.

  • Each ensemble will perform 3 selections with the first being a warm-up, which will not assessed
  • There will be 3 judges in the main room and one sight-reading judge
  • Every ensemble must listen to at least 2 other performances
  • The time frame of total performance is between 10-15 minutes
  • Final rating information will be mailed to each school's director after the event
  • Parents are encouraged to attend.

Students pay Mr Olin to buy them a Panera Bread lunch box for the event.
