The Town and Country Garden Club of St. Louis County, MO participates in conjunction with the Administration of the City of Town and Country, www.town-and-country.org, in the beautification of the Municipal Center and the Fire Station by contribution to the flower beds, special plantings and seasonal decorations.
The Garden Club also planted the gardens surrounding the Kropp Log Cabin and continues to maintain these gardens at Drace Park, 2310 Cedar Valley Road, 63131, south of Clayton Road, just east of the I-270 overpass. Renovations and expansion of the garden beds are ongoing. The community is invited to join us on our work days sprucing up the gardens. We are there on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Wednesdays of the month, May through October, 8:30 to 10:30am. See Drace Gardens Work Days tab at left under "Home" regarding cancellations due to weather.
In the spring of 2013 thru 2016, we participated in the Community Garden at Dayspring Baptist Church, www.dayspringstl.com. All the produce harvested from our plot was donated to Circle of Concern, www.circleofconcern.org. We also collected food and monetary donations from our members and sent Holiday Dinner Baskets for 2016.
We meet on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May, at 11am for a business meeting, followed by a catered lunch at noon, with the program beginning at 1pm. A reservation and cost is required for the lunch. The location is Longview Park Farm House, 13525 Clayton Road, 63141, west of Mason Road. We also plan outings and tours, so please check the Calendar of Events for updates.
Most meetings and events are open and free to the public. We welcome guests. Please contact Myla Stevens, Corresponding Secretary, at mylajstevens@gmail.com to be added to the monthly program reminder and club update email for Friends of the Town & Country Garden Club.
