Touro College Participates in STEM Education

The National Science Board has a Plan For Addressing the Critical Needs of the U.S. and discusses them in their publication Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics Education System. The National Science Board is the governing board of the National Science Foundation and Policy Advisors to the U.S. President and Congress.

On this site students of Touro College Graduate Studies in Education and Special Education address these issues from a bottom up approach. In the Summer of 2008 Touro graduate education students at Bay Shore Long Island Campus taking EdSE 606 and EdSE 601 have joined the initiatives. Students are  creating themed lessons in Math and Science to excite education for students of grades 1-9. Students each create E-Portfolios teaching websites from which to disseminate educational information to colleagues, students and parents. Their e-portfolios contain their video lessons (self-published to, lesson plans written in UDL Universal Design for Learning format and student assessments. The best examples are depicted here for the General Good.
