My name is Sharara Alam and very happy to introduce myself.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Long Island University. I am currently a student at Touro College pursuing my Masters Degree with dual certification in Childhood General Education/Special Education (Grades 1-6).
I currently work for New York City Department of Education as an Elementary Substitute Teacher. I also used to work at South Street Seaport Museum as an Educator. While working at the museum, I traveled to an Elementary school for the Gifted and Talented to teach the history of Henry Hudson and the Lenape People. I love teaching and can’t wait to be a full time classroom teacher, teaching runs on both sides of my family. I have worked both in General and Special Education settings.
