Teaching and Learning

  • New Global Navigation Menu: Always present in the top right corner, the new global navigation menu provides one-click access to key information, resources, and what needs attention from across all of Learn. The menu is also the entry point to the new My Blackboard.
  • My Blackboard: A completely new, modern student experience in Blackboard Learn that consolidates what users need to know about all of their Courses, Organizations, and Social Learning interactions into one place. My Blackboard is focused on meeting the needs of today’s students and provides them with the following new tools: Profile, Posts, Updates, My Grades, and People.
  • Text and Text-to-Voice Course Notifications: Students can now receive automated text or text-to-voice notifications for their courses, for example when a grade has been posted or an assignment is due.
  • Enterprise Surveys & Course Evaluations: Course Delivery now includes the ability to deliver and analyze institutional surveys. The Enterprise Survey and Course Evaluation Tool formerly found in the Outcomes System has been updated and is now included in the core Course Delivery product. Institutions may now conduct surveys as needed at the course, department, institution and general public levels.
  • Item Analysis: Assessment Item Analysis helps instructors refine their assessments by evaluating the quality of each question and that question’s ability to discriminate between students who understand the material and those who do not. This analysis helps weed out (or correct) questions that are poor discriminators. Ineffective or misleading questions can easily be identified and corrected via Blackboard’s Regrade option.
  • Content Editor: The new Content Editor, which is based on the industry standard TinyMCE WYSIWYG editor, vastly improves the user experience for entering text and adding content to all areas of Learn.
