6th Annual Tour of Tsalteshi

Sunday, Feb. 19  2023 

In addition to the traditional 20K and 40K Ski Tour of Tsalteshi, 

new this year will be a 10K Half Tour and a Fat Tour of Tsalteshi!

11:30 Start

10:00-11:15 Bib Pickup 

10K Half Tour (new this year!)

20K Single Tour (Skate and Classic Divisions)  

40K Double Tour (Freestyle)

This is a once-a-winter opportunity to fat bike the ski trails! Please honor the winter rules by not riding the ski trails outside of the Fat Tour event.

A minimum tire width of 3.7 inches and helmets are required. There will be no mid-course aid station for riders.

We've got shirts! Get a long-sleeve wicking tech shirt to show off your Tour of Tsalteshi participation. Preorder your size when you register for the race. 

YOU MUST PREORDER BY FEB. 1 to get the size you want! $25 each. 

Registration Information   

Ski Tour starts at 11:30 a.m. Bib pickup 10-11:15 a.m. behind Skyview Middle School.  

Fat Tour starts at 2:00 p.m.  Bib pickup 12:30-1:45 p.m. behind Skyview Middle School.  

Early online registration by Jan. 31, 2023:

         $25 for current Tsalteshi Trails Association members (see below for other Peninsula ski clubs*)  

        $35 Non-members

        $15 Students

Online registration Feb. 1 to Feb. 17 (online registration closes 6 PM Feb.  17):

         $35 for TTA members (see below for other ski clubs*) 

       $45 Non-members 

       $15 Students

Event day registration Feb. 19 from 10:00-11:15 a.m. at bib pickup tables. All event day registrations will be assigned to the last start wave of their division.

        $40 for TTA members (see below for other ski clubs*) 

       $50 Non-members 

       $15 Students

* Members of the Kachemak Nordic Ski Club and Seward Nordic Ski Club receive the TTA member discount. Use registration code NORDICPENINSULA

If the race is cancelled due to snow conditions, your registration may be applied to next year's Tour of Tsalteshi registration.

No refunds will be given for any reason. Many of the race costs are not recoverable if the race is canceled. All entry fees go toward putting on the race and supporting Tsalteshi Trails Association in its mission of promoting skiing in the central Kenai Peninsula.

 Awards, Prizes and After Party!

            Top three men’s and women’s finishers  in each division will receive an award.

All competitors are eligible for raffle prizes provided by our generous sponsors.

After party starts at 3 p.m. at Kenai River Brewing in Soldotna. 

The Ski Tour awards ceremony starts at 4:00 p.m.  

The Fat Tour awards ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m.

Course Details

The Tour of Tsalteshi traverses the entire trails system 

Half Tour (10K): Finish at K-Beach Trailhead*

Single Tour (20K) One Lap 

Double Tour (40K) Two Laps

We are planning to use the same course as last year. However, we may have to make last-minute changes due to high school ski races being held earlier that weekend. A final course map will be available at bib pickup. 

*Please note there is no shuttle for Half Tour skiers. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation from the K-Beach trailhead.

Total Elevation Gain: Single Tour 1,100’, Double Tour 2,200’
