Notes regarding COVID-19 and changes to this year's Tour of Tsalteshi

The Tour of Tsalteshi was created to promote cross country skiing and fellowship in our community. Amid all the difficulties COVID-19 has brought, we hope this event can continue to be something positive for our community's health and well-being this winter. But we recognize the risk inherent in holding a public event and will be implementing the following measures this year to protect the health of participants, spectators, and volunteers:

  • All participants, volunteers, and spectators are required to wear a face covering and maintain 6 foot social distancing guidelines, except when actively racing.

  • Skiers will be self-supported. There will be no aid stations in the course.

  • No day-of-registration. Registration will close at 5 PM on Friday the 19th. Bib packets will be self-pickup morning of race.

  • Skiers will start in multiple waves, with a maximum of 15 skier per wave. At registration you will be asked to select which wave you feel is most appropriate for you.

  • This year's course may have an altered start to maximize skier dispersal.

  • There will be no after-party this year .

  • While we are hopeful that these mitigation measures will allow us to safely hold this winter's Tour, it is difficult to predict in advance what the state of COVID-19 in the community will be at the event date. If the Tour of Tsalteshi decides the risk level is too high to responsibly put on the event, we may switch to a virtual race.
