Create a Page on your site "My Math Unit"
You will be working in a group to teach a Math or Science  Unit

UDL Universal Design for Learning is often included on the CST SWD exam.

In class we have done many math lessons.
 
Use the UDL Lesson Template (multiple times) below to create a Virtual teaching unit in Mathematics or Science. 
 
The Math unit should contain videos and possibly Powerpoint, Jing and/or Podcast presentations. Please work in assigned groups.
 
Suggested Math Unit Topics
  • Teaching Mutiplication with Table Names
  • Math Sets with cards - The Trick
  • Number pairs of 10 and 9
  • Consumer Math- Change from a Dollar
 What should be on My Math Unit Page
A video introduction by YOU
All that you might  write on a Blackboard for a lesson observation  by a principal (examples, Aim, Do Now, Goals. etc.)
Videos, Powerpoints  Jings, as needed.
Multiple UDL Math Unit Lesson Plans as needed (see template below)
Internet activities (may include math from SUMMIT)

Introduction to Powerpoint for Teachers
 
Please download and watch these 2 Powerpoint Presentations
Make note that
1- They are pps Powepoint Slideshows - Self playing
2- Note the component, soundtrack, images., transitions, etc.
We will be using our tech to create slideshows and educational games (in collaborative groups)
REMEMBER- Save the file to your hard drive ( My Douments) and then find it and "Open" it so that it plays in the Powerpoint program.
 
The exceptional student(s) will choose topics relveant topics to Special Eductaion, Teaching content for CST- SWD, Assessment in Science,

1- All by now have embedded a video on their google site Differentiated Instruction page.
Create a video ( someone videos you while you show whatis on your Differentiated Instruction Page, use your finger to point
Explain what is on this page
Explain key points of Differentiated Instruction
Upload the video to Youtube.com - Your account should be the same as the username and password for your new class Touro account.
Use tags Professor Stein Touro 606 and your name
Now embed your own video on your Diffrentiated Instruction Page.
 
Note a good sample of a video ( strat with face and introduction, pan to site, pan back to face for a summary and googbye. Note this was filmed for a home page intro.

2- Create a page Standards and Assessments Science
Explain the need for standardized tests, when they are given, how you and colleagues can prepare your students in test skills and learn curriculum standrads based content
